Educational Objectives At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:
Accommodation The conference will be held at the Galveston Island Convention Center and the host hotel for room accommodations will be the Hilton Galveston Island Resort. The Hilton is located (next to the Galveston Island Convention Center) at 5400 Seawall Boulevard, Galveston, Texas. Special rates of $119 single/double are available by contacting the Hilton at (800) 475-3386 or (409) 744-5000 before September 10, 2005 and specifying the “UTMB Diabetes Care: Targeting the Barriers.” Accreditation CME—The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston designates this educational activity for a maximum of 11.5 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should only claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. CNE— This program (#2005-667) has also been approved by an American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN)- approved provider (#00012296) under established AACN guidelines for 13.5 contact hours, CERP Category A.
