		Seniors Summer Day Camp August 24th, Galveston, TX.   The Seniors Summers Day Camp was held on August 24th at Moody Memorial Church in Galveston. Sidney Bailey from the Stark Diabetes Center was on hand to provide free glucose screening and diabetes education. According to the CDS approximately half of all diabetes cases occur in people aged 55 years and older. Approximately 18.3% (8.6 million) of people in the United States aged 60 years and older have diabetes. Diabetes often leads to chronic conditions that eventually result in death, such as heart disease and kidney disease. Thus, diabetes is often behind, but not listed as, the cause of many deaths.
